Hello! We're the Schmickrath's! A family of six pretty average people with big goals and the diligent drive to bring them to reality. There's Mom and Dad and their four crazy kids; Julienne (17), Reese (14), Audrey (12), and Paige (9). We have lived on the Wasatch front of beautiful Utah state for 14 years.
When Audrey started kindergarten, Mom really wanted Audrey to be enrolled in Chinese immersion. Since then, Audrey has enjoyed studying Chinese for the last six years in different schools and with private tutors.
When Mom was in second grade playing at her best friend Santana's house she stood in awe listening to Santana speak fluent Spanish with her parents. Ever since then Mom always thought it would be the most amazing thing to be able to speak another language and live in other parts of the world.
So now after years of daydreaming and goal setting from mom and dad, six years of speaking and learning from Audrey, as well as willingness and excitement from the rest of us, we are making our dream come true! It's been planned (sort of), prepared for, and at last we have made it to Hangzhou China!
We are excited to share our experiences with friends and family and really anyone interested enough to follow along. We want to share our story, and hopefully inspire others to take the next step in making their goals reality.
